There will be two breakout sessions at Together with Barnwood 2023 and we would like you to choose your sessions before the event. Details are below and our Events team will contact you to ask you to make your selection.

Breakout session 1

How Barnwood ‘listens and learns’ (Hatherley Suite)

We want to discuss the different ways in which people can share their views and which methods might help us reach more people.

This is an interactive small group session which will be facilitated by a member of the Barnwood team. Your ideas will be fed into a ‘word cloud’ and shown on a big screen.

OR

How Barnwood funds organisations (Moat Suite)

We want to discuss the two different ways Barnwood gives funding to organisations, through ‘open’ and ‘themed’ funding. We want to ask whether you think we should be concentrating more on one of these than the other.

This is an interactive session with information available on displays. You will be asked give your views by positioning yourself along a line and share your comments.

Breakout session 2

How Barnwood talks about disability (Hatherley Suite)

There are two different ways of talking about disability, the social model (which looks at how society can be more inclusive) and the medical model (which focuses on diagnosis). We want to explore the different ways we see these models in our life or work, and how we can see more of the social model being used across Gloucestershire.

This is an interactive small-group session which will be facilitated by a member of the Barnwood team. Your ideas will be fed into a ‘word cloud’ and shown on a big screen.

OR

How Barnwood makes its investments (Moat Suite)

We want to explore the dilemma about whether we should be prioritising investments that make the most money, or those that have the highest ethical standards.

This is an interactive session with information available on displays. You will be asked give your views by positioning yourself along a line and share your comments.

We can offer support with arranging transport for the day and reimbursing travel expenses. We want to hear from you if there are things that will help you to attend, or barriers that might prevent you from doing so.

If you have any questions about the event, or would like to receive this information in a different format please contact us on 01242 539935 or events@barnwoodtrust.org
