Accessibility Fund

We are delighted to introduce the Accessibility Fund, a new funding programme designed to make both indoor and outdoor spaces more welcoming and accessible for disabled people and people with mental health conditions.

This fund goes beyond just ramps and wider doorways—we’re looking to support the whole package. That means funding projects that take a holistic approach to accessibility, ensuring that spaces aren’t just physically accessible but also feel truly inclusive and welcoming.

This approach was shaped by Experts by Lived Experience from Barnwood Circle, who worked with us to design the programme. They emphasised that accessibility is about more than just physical changes—it’s about creating spaces that truly meet people’s needs and make them feel like they belong.

Read our Accessibility Fund Information Pack for more details.

What Can the Fund Support?

While improving physical access is a key part of every project we fund, we’re also looking for projects that consider:

  • A welcoming atmosphere – making sure disabled people feel that the space is truly ‘for them.’
  • Sensory-friendly environments – improvements like clearer signage to support people with sensory conditions.
  • Staff training – equipping people who work at the space with the knowledge and confidence to support disabled visitors.
  • Clear visitor information – so disabled people know in advance what to expect when they arrive.

To apply for this fund, you’ll need to show that disabled people in your community have been involved in shaping your project. If your organisation doesn’t own the space, that’s okay—you’ll just need to provide evidence of security of tenure, such as a lease agreement.

Who Can Apply?

This fund is open to non-profit organisations including charities, Community Interest Companies, social enterprises, and community groups.
