Research & Policy Assistant

What am I responsible for? Portrait headshot of Jess

My job involves contributing to the research projects undertaken at the Trust by collecting research evidence and policy information and working with the wider team to ensure that our research will align with the Trust’s aim of making change happen.

What brings me here?

  • I have an academic background in social psychology with a research focus on socio-cultural identity acceptance and examining the barriers to marginalised community inclusion.
  • After graduation, I worked within the adult mental health sector in my hometown of Leicester. I was influenced by my own experiences with disability and mental health to seek an opportunity to become more directly involved in change work and creating positive outcomes for disabled people and people with mental health conditions.

What do I enjoy spending time doing in your spare time?

I love live music and spending hours trawling through charity shops in search of new books to add to my overflowing shelves! I enjoy exploring new walking routes with my girlfriend and finding the best places for a post-walk pub visit.
