State of Gloucestershire research
At Barnwood Trust, our Insights Team undertake research to inform the work we do. We have recently released our State of Gloucestershire research. Over 260 disabled people and people with mental health conditions living in Gloucestershire took part in an Opportunities and Housing survey, carried out as part of this research.
We have produced an Executive Summary as well as a series of booklets which bring together the survey findings with key statistics from national reports. The booklets also offer a series of recommendations for organisations and providers.
We are pleased to launch the Executive Summary in a range of different accessible formats, including BSL, Easy Read, large print and audio and video files.

Many disabled people and people with mental health conditions told us about the challenges they experience to accessing meaningful opportunities and to living in suitable and accessible housing. We also heard about what would help.
Over the next few months, we will share booklets of the findings about employment, leisure, housing, volunteering, and education and training.
The Insights Team would love to hear from anyone who is interested in the research or has done similar research.
