Wellbeing in Gloucestershire - Barnwood Trust

Wellbeing in Gloucestershire

In recent years there has been a growing interest in the measurement of wellbeing. Correspondingly, a large body of evidence now exists on the determinants of wellbeing as well as a range of widely tested measures and indicators.

Keen to understand the relative importance of these determinants in the Gloucestershire context, in 2013 Barnwood Trust commissioned a study of wellbeing in the county.  The study was designed to explore whether residents living with and without impairments enjoyed the same levels of wellbeing.

The study had two main strands:
1. a large-scale, representative survey of Gloucestershire residents
2. a piece of qualitative research to explore the experience of residents living with an impairment.
